Since I did not have any helpers today I started with the inside glassing. I needed to enlarge the opening in the fuselage up to the carbon beam inside so I would not have to add a piece of fiberglass later on. Once everything was smooth I rounded the fuselage opening inside so the glass would make better contact going into the fuselage. I then wetted out two layers of BID and all along the sides of the strake and fuselage, waited an hour to get it all very sticky and rolled it into place. Follow by a layer of peel ply I worked out the air bubbles and left it to cure. |
