I spent the day figuring out how to attach the undersized oil cooler holder to an oversize oil cooler. This is what I came up with. I stopped at the metal supermarket yesterday and picked up some X 1/8 aluminium flat bar and had them cut it to three different lengths. I needed two pieces to go under the front and back edges of 8 and 10 long. The shorter piece is the length of the oil cooler fins and the longer pieces extend out past the cooler mounting brackets. I then placed a 7 piece along each side underneath the cooler mounting bracket and bolted the pieces together in all four corners. I then drilled along the front and back of the aluminium bracket through the two pieces of flat bar, inserted what is call a click bond (which has a flat surface rather than a screw head) and locking nut. The unit is very strong and just needs to be mounted on the firewall. I won't be using all of the cooling fins, but between the front cooler and the rear cooler I expect their will be enough cooling of the oil.
