Oct. 07, 2013 (Day 193) (Hours = 1055) Education and Recreation, I must remember why I am going through so much frustration. The lay up I did the previous Tuesday was good but I thought I would put on the top strake to test the fit, and wouldnt you know it nothing fit. The baffles are all too high and need to be shaved off by the thickness of the fiberglass, so out came the orbital sander and off came the fibreglass. A lot of work gone but lesson learned. I have sanded everything down and laid up all the glass again, just need to do the reinforcements.
Oct. 08, 2013 (Day 194) (Hours = 1059) Cleaned up the co-pilots side and laid up the reinforcements. Top strake fits and once everything cures it can go on. I still need to do the same procedure to the pilots side as I am sure I will need to cut down some of the baffles on that side.
Oct. 09 2013 (Day 195) (Hours = 1059) No work on the aircraft today as all I want to get accomplished was to move my engine from the City Center airport out to the hangar in Camrose. I rented a five ton truck with a tailgate loader and head down to Alberta Aero Engine where Lance loaded the engine with his forklift. I strapped it in and off I went to Camrose. I did need some help at the hangar so Terry and Chasse from the maintenance shop came over to help out. Less than five minutes and we were done. Took the truck back to Budget and went home.
