Today was all about getting the elevator hinges installed which went very smoothly. I had already marked the positions on both elevators and it was just a matter of drilling the pilot holes front and back while making sure the hinges were square to the trailing and leading edges. With that accomplished I sanded the hinges and the elevators, then mixed some structural adhesive and laid it on. Replaced the pop rivets into the holes and squeezed them down. Once I had all of the hinges in place and cleaned up I went back and drilled the final holes for the bolts to go through into the metal tube. Then the fun commenced with trying to get the nut onto each bolt while holding it on the end of a piece of dowel with a wrench taped to it. I managed to get all eight nuts in place in about an hour and a half.
