Next item to be installed is the Magnetometer which needs to be as far away from ferrous metal as possible. Most, if not all, have mounted it out on the end of one of the strakes so that is where it is going to go. Here again Andy helped out by providing pictures of his installation and I just went on the same theme. I made a small backing plate that will be glassed onto the outside last bulkhead of the right strake along with an angle bracket to hold the magnetometer. Getting this as level as possible in both front to back and side to side is very important. In the picture you can hardly make out the backing plate but it is covered in structural adhesive. Once it is cured I will remove the angle bracket and cover it with two layers of BID and some microballon.
